Here at Faith, children are a vital part of our worship experience. On non-communion Sundays, there is a Childrens’ message. These messages are geared toward teaching them the love of Jesus and how everyday things and activities can remind us of his love.
Sunday School is held each Sunday before morning worship. Here the children explore the stories associated with the Bible and learn what they mean, and how these stories apply to our lives.
Faith annually holds a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for our children as well as any community member that desires to join in the fun. Our VBS activities are centered around one specific topic for the year and included lessons, crafts, games and activities as well as snacks.
Our children participate in a Christmas Program and this program is the thrust of the worship for that particular Sunday.
Pastor Guynn encourages participation of children in the Worship service as appropriate because as children become actively involved in the church activities, in general their interest level remains higher. For example, at the last service just before the Season of Lent, we symbolically put away our use of “Alleluia.” During the last hymn of that service, the children carry our Alleluia banner out of the sanctuary. On Easter Sunday, they carry if back in as we celebrate our risen Lord and Savior.
