As our children move to Confirmation age (starting as they enter grade 6), they move toward youth group involvement. Confirmation classes teach the children about the key components of the Lutheran Faith, the Creeds and elements of our Catechism. After their instruction is finished in the Spring of their 7th grade year, the children are confirmed and then become confirmed members of the church.
We offer Sunday School programming for the teens all the way through high school, and hope that as they graduate from high school, join our young adult group to continue their education and fellowship.
Our youth group is very active in both local service and fun activities. They regularly go to the LCMS Ohio District Junior High gatherings as well as the LCMS National Youth Gathering. At the Junior High Gathering, there are approximately 800 youth that come together for various fun games and keynote speakers. The National Gathering brings together approximately 28,000 youth from around the country for worship, Bible Study, service events and fellowship.
We have many youth that are vital to leading worship service. They assist in things, such as serving as an acolyte, Praise Team membership, operating the sound board and enhancing the worship with their instrumental skills.
